Let's Address Intraocular Lens Related Issues

This site was created to deal with intraocular lens related issues. Once an issue is identified, the normal action of responsible government and industry bodies has been to limit access to the product while it is studied. The presence of glistenings in Acrysof lenses has been acknowledged since 1995. Although there is mounting evidence that these glistenings cause vision problems, there continues to be little response on the part of Alcon or government to deal with this.

This site will encourage exchange of information to determine if glistenings are innocuous or a detriment to visual quality.

Although the initial issue is glistenings in Acrysof intraocular lenses, this site will also encourage the discussion of other intraocular lens related problems which might impact on patient safety or quality of vision.
